Joshua Michael Homme is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Queens of the Stone Age have canceled and rescheduled their remaining 2024 tour dates because of frontman Josh Homme’s ongoing health problems.

The band shared this update on their social media, revealing that Homme, who has been battling cancer since 2022, must focus on his health and undergo essential medical treatment throughout the year.

The band stated, “QOTSA deeply regrets to announce the cancellation and/or rescheduling of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been compelled to prioritize his health and undergo crucial medical treatment throughout the year.”

The band added, “Festival ticket holders should check the respective event websites for the latest updates. Fans with tickets for QOTSA shows will receive additional details about rescheduled dates from their point of purchase.”

In June 2023, Josh Homme disclosed that he had been diagnosed with cancer the previous year. In an interview with Revolver, he mentioned that he had undergone successful cancer removal surgery but chose not to share further details at that time.

While on an international tour, the band had to cancel and reschedule eight shows in July 2023 when Homme had to return to the U.S. for emergency surgery.

Given Homme’s ongoing health concerns, the band has chosen to postpone their scheduled August tour. In their statement, they expressed gratitude for the support and time shared with fans over the past year, stating, “Josh and the QOTSA family are deeply thankful for your support. We hope to see you all again in 2025.”

Queens of the Stone Age were actively promoting their eighth studio album, In Times New Roman.., released in June 2023. Following their debut in 1998, this album has been a significant milestone in their career, earning eight Grammy nominations.

In a December 2023 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Homme shared his thoughts on the album and his creative process, noting, “It’s getting harder and harder to do, because I put so much pressure on wanting to be raw, vulnerable, honest. How much more honest are you going to be?”

While the tour’s cancellation has disappointed fans, the band emphasizes that Homme’s recovery is their top priority. The rescheduled dates in 2025 will give fans the opportunity to see the band live once Homme has fully recovered.
