In other situations, post-credits sequences offer a lighthearted, unimportant scene to reward moviegoers who stayed to watch the credits, or they hint what will happen next in a connected universe of stories.
These situations don’t really have the same effect on television, particularly after a whole season has premiered. Additionally, binge-watching promotes jumping straight to the next episode as soon as the credits roll.
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hoping for a post-credits scene will be let down by the conclusion of the WandaVision sequel series Agatha All Along. Following Agnes’ (Agatha Harkness’) transformation under Wanda’s sway, the program embarked on a magical adventure with her new coven of witches, which included Wanda’s son.
Even though the plot sets up more stories involving these characters, Agatha All Along ends when the credits have rolled.
Does Agatha All Along Have Post Credit Scene?
WandaVision, the parent series of Agatha All Along, featured post-credits segments to set up upcoming movies. Monica Rambeau encounters a disguised Skrull in one scene to prepare for her debut in The Marvels. In a similar vein, Wanda was observed browsing the Darkhold and looking for her sons in the multiverse.
This played a significant role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as Wanda caused chaos while trying to find a replacement for her boys. Despite lacking its own mid- or post-credits scenes, Agatha All Along sort of relates to that tale.
Although the series focused on its title heroine, Agatha All Along was officially WandaVision Season 2. Through the relationships of Agatha Harkness with others, the series explored magic in the MCU through Agatha and her fellow witches (Lilia Calderu, Jennifer Kale, Alice Wu-Gulliver, and Death herself).
The enigmatic figure known as “Teen” turned out to be Wanda’s kid in a different body, and he is currently looking for Tommy, his sibling. There was nothing left for the show to look at in a post-credits scene because Jennifer was the only other witch who survived.
“You and I may work well together. Let’s go look for Tommy. — Billy Maximoff’s ghost, Agatha Harkness.
There wasn’t anything to set up for a post-credits sequence because Agatha All Along Season 2 is unlikely. Future storytellers are free to explore what happens to Billy, Agatha, or Jennifer in their own works.
Marvel storytellers are occasionally pigeonholed by a post-credits sequence. One may argue that Wanda’s story in WandaVision was violated when the Darkhold corrupted her, turning the well-liked Avengers hero into a villain. Agatha All Along avoids this error, leaving the fates of its characters open-ended.
Why Agatha Harkness Died in the Finale and Turned Into a Ghost?
Similar to WandaVision, Agatha All Along’s plot isn’t clear-cut, especially when it comes to Agatha Harkness. She is a strong witch who has a reputation for killing witches who assault her by absorbing their powers.
Billy comes to her looking for the Witches’ Road, but it never existed. Since Agatha was the only known survivor of the Road, it was actually fiction meant to draw in witches who were looking for power. To entice them, she composed a song called “The Ballad” with her son, Nicholas Scratch.
“The trick was the ballad. It was really a ruse to entice more unsuspecting witches. There is no meaning to the song. It didn’t. — The Ghost of Agatha Harkness to Billy Maximoff.
The only reason Agatha and Teen put together the coven was to deceive the other witches into fighting her so that she might build strength to battle the Salem Seven. Billy, however, created a “real” Witches’ Road for them to travel as his magic is similar to his mother’s.
Agatha aspired to obtain her “prize,” namely power, by successfully completing these fictitious trials. When Death attempted to take Billy Maximoff’s soul, however, she referred to him as “an abomination.” Then Agatha decided to give herself up instead.
Despite his strength and lethality, Billy nonetheless made Agatha think of her own kid, a kind and innocent youngster. Instead, she surrendered herself to her old love interest rather than let Death claim him.
However, Agatha became a ghost because she was unable to “face” her son’s soul in whatever afterlife the MCU depicts. She simply came to Billy to get her mother’s brooch back, but she stayed and assisted him in locating Tommy’s ghost.
Wiccan’s Future in the MCU Is Probably Going to Include Young Avengers
Agatha leads Billy through a ceremony in the first of the two finale episodes, which she claims enabled him to find his brother Tommy’s spirit and assimilate him into the body of a drowning youngster. Billy’s survival, which involved assuming William Kaplan’s body after his death in a car accident, is comparable to this technique.
Agatha All Along makes it apparent that Billy’s next adventure is to find Tommy, but that this is not his final goal, even without a post-credits sequence to introduce it.
The most significant moment occurs right before the credits, as in Agatha All Along, even though The Marvels features a post-credits scene. Similar to Iron Man’s “part of a much larger universe” post-credits scene that introduced Nick Fury, Kamala Khan makes an appearance at Kate Bishop’s apartment.
Despite being the only two members of her squad, Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye will almost certainly cross paths with fellow “Young Avenger” Billy Maximoff at some point. In actuality, the MCU already features every member of the original Young Avengers cast, with the exception of Wiccan’s romantic interest, Hulkling.
The MCU’s young Avengers
- Billy Maximoff/Wiccan
- Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
- Hawkeye/Bishop, Kate
- Cassie Lang/Patriot Structure/Eli Bradley
Fans are excited for a Young Avengers collaboration, even though Marvel Studios has not made any formal announcements. One Young Avenger merely has a fleeting appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but characters like Cassie Lang or Billy have significant parts in respective projects.
Eli Bradley is the grandson of Black man Elijah Bradley, who served as the “second” Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Eli also probably plays a part in the Captain America: Brave New World teaser, where he is seen shooting Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross.
