The Boys Season 3 Release Date: Season 3 of The Boys is coming shortly, and the first trailer has arrived to make the wait even more bearable. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also the mock news series Seven on 7 for hints at what’s to come, as well as the animated anthology spin-off The Boys: Diabolical to keep you entertained.
Everything you need to know about The Boys seasons 3 is right here, from who’s who in the cast to what’s known about the plot and the dirt on newcomer Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).
The greatest talking point in the new season is the revelation that Billy Butcher has superpowers, and we have a quote from Karl Urban himself discussing the development below.
The Boys Season 3 Plot
Victoria Neuman will undoubtedly be the center of attention. The secret Supe politician has been blowing people’s heads off and is sure to have a devious plot up her sleeve.
After breaking his pledge and keeping Ryan out of Stan Edgar’s grasp, Butcher may find himself in the sights of Vought and the reformed Seven. That, combined with the introduction of the first Supe, Soldier Boy, could indicate that additional information about the corporation’s beginnings is revealed.
We also asked Claudia Doumit, who plays Victoria Neuman, and Nathan Mitchell, who plays Black Noir, what we can anticipate from their respective characters in the third season, which should serve as a good appetizer until we learn more definite details about The Boys season 3 story.

The Boys Season 3 Cast
Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) have all returned, while Homelander (Antony Starr), Maeve (Dominique McElligott), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), A-Train (Jessie Usher), and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) make up the Super.
The Deep (Chace Crawford) is also still on the show. Also returning is Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito).
Outside of that, Claudia Doumit’s Congresswoman Victoria Neuman is the most well-known. She’ll undoubtedly be a key focus of Season 3 after being proven to be behind the head-exploding attacks. She and Colby Minifie (Vought PR Ashley) have been promoted to series regulars, according to Deadline.
Cindy, the escaped patient from Sage Grove, is now on the loose and “as dangerous as ever.” She’ll almost certainly appear in season 3 of The Boys.
Soldier Boy, a Supe who is essentially a twisted spin on Captain America, is one definite new member of the cast. Jensen Ackles, from Supernatural, will play him.
The Boys Season 3 Release Date Release Date
The Boys season 3 premiere date has been confirmed as June 3, 2022. The first three episodes will be released on that date, with the remaining five episodes following on Fridays.
Filming for the third installment began on February 24, 2021, and the group officially wrapped for the third season on September 17, 2021. Unlike most streaming services, The Boys switched plans between seasons one and two, releasing episodes weekly rather than in one big batch.
The same is expected to happen with the next episodes, with the time between filming and distribution likely due to the requirement for heavy special effects.

The Boys Season 3 Trailer
The Boys season 3 trailer was released, and it was unexpectedly dialogue-free. It makes up for what it lacks in words with action, which includes a superpowered Billy Butcher, a new look at Solider Boy and Crimson Countess, multiple exploding bodies, and Homelander… milking a cow.
“That’s the conundrum: should Butcher be a superhero or a supervillain?” The superpowers reveal was revealed to Entertainment Weekly by Karl Urban. “In order to defeat the monster, do you become the monster? And I think one of the coolest things about this season is that every character has to make that decision. How far are they willing to go?
What line are they willing to cross in order to achieve what they want to achieve? It creates tension for all of the people on the show, and it’s interesting to watch who ends up on which side.”
A commercial for a restaurant called Buster Beaver’s also appears in the trailer, and Kripke claims on Twitter that “#BusterBeaver & his Pizza Pals are vital to the Season 3 storyline.” We’ll have to wait and see how that goes…
The Boys Season 3 Episodes
Season 3 of The Boys will follow the same pattern as previous seasons. It will consist of eight episodes, about which little is known at this time. We do know the titles of two episodes which give us some clues as to what will happen next in the tale. “Payback” is the title of the first episode. It was confirmed by Kripke on his official Twitter account in October 2020.
The title is both a tease and a reference to a gang from The Boys comics, which includes the show’s newest attraction, Soldier Boy, and Stormfront at one point.
“Herogasm” is the title of Episode 6. As the name implies, it will be something that tests the limits of what can be broadcast on television. People have been daring Kripke to adapt it since Day One, he said recently on Twitter.
“Herogasm” is a six-issue offshoot of The Boys graphic novels that take place between issues 30 and 31 of the main storyline, according to canon. The narrative of the spinoff revolves around the protagonists entering Vought’s yearly “party” for their favorite and best-performing Supes.
Spoiler alert: The party is an out-of-control extravaganza complete with illegal substances and nasty sex practices, with the superheroes employing their special abilities in exciting and inconceivable ways. It’ll be interesting to see how far they’re willing to take this R-rated episode.
