The drama series from the United Kingdom is the subject of this essay. HeartBeat is a 1988 American television series (1988 TV series). See Heartbeat for the 2016 U.S. series (2016 TV series). See Hartbeat for the BBC children’s show of the same name.
From 1992 until 2010, ITV Studios (previously Yorkshire Television until it was merged by ITV) produced Heartbeat, a British period drama series based on Nicholas Rhea’s “Constable” series of novels.
The series is set in the 1960s in real-life and fictional locales throughout the North Riding of Yorkshire, with most episodes focusing on independent but occasionally intersecting events; in certain episodes, a single-story centred on a dramatic incident is told.
Jason Durr, Jonathan Kerrigan, Philip Franks, Duncan Bell, Clare Wille, Lisa Kay, Tricia Penrose, Geoffrey Hughes, Peter Benson, and Gwen Taylor joined Nick Berry, Niamh Cusack, Derek Fowlds, William Simons, Mark Jordon, and Bill Maynard as main characters were added to the series as more main characters were introduced.
Outdoor and exterior sequences were filmed in the North Riding, particularly in and around Whitby and Goathland, with interior scenes filmed at The Leeds Studios.
