Looking Ahead to AEW Dynamite/Rampage in Vegas

0

Think wrestling and you’re likely to think of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the most well-known of all the wrestling organizations. However, the All Elite Wrestling organization has also firmly won the hearts of wrestling fans. Stars such as MJF, the world champion; Jamie Hayter, the women’s world champion; and FTR, the world tag team champions are all keeping fans in the masses following developments and events in the AEW.

The organization holds events around the country, and tickets are quick to see as fans look to see the grapplers live in action. AEW “Dynamite” and “Rampage” are two of the organization’s weekly shows, the flagship one being “Dynamite”. “Dynamite/Rampage” is coming to Las Vegas soon. As you know, Vegas hosts lots of extreme sports and, as the gambling capital of the world, is exactly the right place to go and play a few poker games. Below is a look at “Dynamite/Rampage,” and what has been happening in the AEW as the event took place.

AEW Dynamite and Rampage

AEW Dynamite / Rampage headed to Las Vegas on May 23rd 2023 and got under way at 4 pm. The action took place in the MGM Garden Arena, and fans can always expect to see some of the organization’s biggest stars in action, including MJF.

It’s the final event before AEW’s pay-per-view event Double or Nothing, which is one of the earliest PPV events around and will see some of the AEW’s stars do battle again in Vegas in the T-Mobile Arena on May 28. A series of Dynamite and Rampage events are scheduled in the run up to Double or Nothing. As well as the Vegas event, fans in Sunrise, Florida; Baltimore, Maryland; Detroit, Michigan; and Austin, Texas, will all be able to see the AEW’s grapplers go head to head.

What’s been happening?

Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the organization. Here are some of the things that have been going on in the run up to the Vegas event.

Britt Baker recovering from beatdown

Britt Baker has been online displaying her wounds following a disgusting, brutal beatdown following her participation alongside Jamie Hayter in a tag team match. The pair had squared off against Ruby Soho and Toni Storm, two of the new wrestling trio The Outcasts. Baker made Soho tap, securing the win for the team.

Later that evening, during the Chris Jericho and Adam Cole confrontation segment, the Outcast would launch a horrific attack on Baker as she tried to help out Cole. All Cole could do was stand and watch as blows with kendo sticks rained down on Baker from the Outcasts.

Kommander signs with the AEW

Kommander may have not quite been able to produce the goods against “The Switchblade” Jay White recently, but his other performances have been impressive. Finally, the lucha libre star has signed on the dotted line and officially become a star of the AEW. The high-flying grappler is looking forward to life as a member of the AEW and has thanked the fans and everyone else who has supported him on his wrestling journey.

Wardlaw becomes TNT champ for a third time

There are some people in life who are destined to be champions. Wardlaw is clearly one of them as he won the TNT title for the third time, which he did on AEW Dynamite. Wardlaw had challenged the then reigning champion Powerhouse Hobbs to a match up that would put his title on the land.

In an interview, Wardlaw also announced that he’d formed an alliance with Arn Anderson, who would come to play a part in Wardlaw’s winning of the title. Anderson would confront any interference from QT Marshall with the referee and would square off against him, tipping the momentum back in the favor of the now champion. Wardlaw powerbombed Hobbs three times to win both the match and the title.

Not everyone was as happy as Wardlaw about the victory, however. After the bell, Christian Cage and Luchasaurus confronted him and stared him down. Cage hadn’t been appearing since he lost to “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry at AEW Revolution 2023. A victory by Perry over Luchasaurus had persuaded the latter to take some time away. The confrontation with Wardlaw marked their official return to AEW TV.

What to expect in Vegas

Fans can expect the usual mix of action and excitement from the AEW. It looks like some grudges have materialized. Now, not only might some championships be decided, but also some scores settled when the stars hit Vegas in May.

The AEW is full of drama and, no matter which event you attend or follow, you can be sure of plenty of action and plenty of talking points. Will you be following Dynamite/Rampage in Vegas? Why not get a ticket and check it out?
