Emma Watson created her term for being single by referring to herself as “self-partnered” before turning 30.

The performer, who turns 40 in April, talked about the challenges of entering her fourth decade of life and the “influx of subliminal messaging” about what you should have accomplished by then.

According to her interview with British Vogue, “There’s just this unbelievable level of anxiety if you don’t have a partner if you don’t have a baby […].”

The 29-year-old Watson claimed that she has never bought into the “‘I’m happy single’ spiel” and that she doesn’t fully understand why people “make such a huge fuss over becoming 30.”
