The Brown family is still upset about housing on Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives. When Christine Brown leaves town for her new home in Utah, the sale of her old house falls through.
Kody wants to find a way to keep the house in the family, so he suggests to his second wife, Janelle, that she buy Christine’s old house before they build Janelle’s new house on the family’s Coyote Pass property.
Janelle says that she can’t afford to buy Christine’s house and then build on the property. She criticizes her husband for insisting that she make the purchase.
“All Kody could talk about was how sad he was that he was losing this house that Christine had. He liked it,” Janelle says in her confessional.
“He didn’t want to lose it. So it kind of felt like he was using me and my buying power to save this house that he loves.”
As Kody keeps pushing the issue, Janelle gets more and more upset and tells Kody, “I don’t have a house. I want my own home.”
She thinks that buying Christine’s house will slow down her new build and leave her “stuck” in a house that isn’t the one she wants.
“He doesn’t care at all about why I can’t do this or don’t want to do this,” Janelle says of Kody. “It’s almost like he thinks that if he keeps telling me, he’s going to steamroll me and I’ll just lay down and say, ‘OK, let’s do it.'”
“I’m not trying to force her into anything,” Kody says in his confessional. “I am trying to have a conversation. She is going to do what she wants. She’s always had.”
Kody says he doesn’t want to live in the RV with Janelle anymore and is clearly annoyed that she won’t even consider the idea of buying Christine’s house.
“If she can’t work with me to solve problems, then she has to solve them on her own,” he says dismissively. “And the way she’s trying to do it, by buying the RV and moving out there, isn’t working.
Later in the episode, Kody talks more about his tense relationship with Janelle, saying, “I’ve been left feeling pretty disrespected. I’m not going to break my back to work for you if you don’t respect me. I’m just not.
Janelle needs someone who will do anything to get this project done, and that’s not me right now. Men do not feel love from women who don’t respect them. I feel like Janelle finds it hard to respect me or show me respect.
That might be an unjust statement. Maybe it’s just the way we fight. If you don’t respect me, don’t bother with your love. Just doesn’t work in my world.
As Christine’s divorce from Kody has played out over the last few episodes of the show, the couple’s problems have gotten worse.
Janelle and Christine have been close for a long time, and Janelle has been there for her ex-sister-in-law Christine during the messy breakup, often at the expense of her own marriage to Kody.
“I’m good unless I think about it. Janelle says, “It’s not the end, it’s just the end of a big, big chapter, maybe the end of the book.” “All of a sudden, my whole world looks different.”
Janelle adds that her relationships with her other sister’s wives, Robyn and Meri, are not as strong as the ones she has with Christine.
“Christine was always the core of that relationship for me. She says of Kody’s first wife, Meri, “I’ve struggled with her, and we’ve worked hard for many years to try to figure ourselves out.” “And Robyn, there are a lot of problems. And Christine is, in my mind, the very definition of a sister wife.”

It looks like Kody and Janelle’s problems will only get worse in next week’s episode since the preview shows the two of them at each other’s throats again.
“We haven’t been acting like a married couple for most of our marriage, Janelle,” Kody tells his wife while they are out together.
“I’m fuming mad right now,” Janelle says in her side interview. “Maybe this isn’t a good fit. Maybe this doesn’t work,” Kody says, adding, “It feels like we’re unraveling.”
Janelle seems shocked by the conversation, and she adds, “I’m thinking, What the hell am I doing here?”
Again, Kody compares his other relationships to his marriage to Robyn. He says, “I have someone in my life who is fundamentally loyal to me.” In response, Janelle says, “I’m not going to become Robyn.”
