The longest-running “Power Ranger” has died at the age of 49. Jason David Frank, who was born in Covina, California, played the white ranger in the first season of the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” television series before switching to the green ranger. In 1993, he joined the famous series, Tommy Oliver.
Jason David Frank, best known as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Green Power Ranger Tommy Oliver, has died at the age of 49. The famous children’s show, which started in 1993, made the actor and mixed martial artist famous.
On Sunday, a person who worked for Frank told Yahoo Entertainment that the actor had died. The official report of the cause of death has not been made public.
“It’s a shame, but it’s true. Friends and fans of Frank praised him on social media. Walter Emmanuel Jones, who was the first Black Power Ranger and starred in the hit TV show with Frank, went on Instagram to remember his friend and show how sad he was.

Frank’s manager, Justine Hunt, said in a statement on Sunday that Frank died in Texas. She didn’t say what killed him or when he died, but she asked for the “privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.”
Sources who knew the person well told TMZ that the death was caused by suicide, but the official cause of death has not been made public yet.
Walter Emmanuel Jones was the first Black Power Ranger. He was on the show “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” with Frank “he couldn’t believe it, he wrote on Instagram. “I’m sad that another member of our special family has died, “said Jones. Thuy Trang, who was the first Yellow Power Ranger, died in a car accident when he was 27 years old in 2001.

Frank’s Tommy Oliver was first portrayed as a villain in the first season after being brainwashed by the wicked Rita Repulsa. But soon after, he was accepted into the team as the Green Ranger and rose to prominence as one of the show’s most loved characters.
Frank was eventually reinstated as the White Ranger and the team’s leader, even though his position wasn’t meant to be permanent.
Tommy Oliver, who played Frank in the original TV series, also appeared in spinoffs as the Red Zeo Ranger, the Red Turbo Ranger, and the Black Dino Ranger. Additionally, he portrayed him in the movies “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie” and “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie,” and he made a surprise appearance in the 2017 revival “Power Rangers.”
Frank, a martial artist, competed in a number of mixed martial arts matches in 2009 and 2010.
As previously reported by TMZ, Tammie Frank, Frank’s second wife, filed for divorce from him in August. Four children, one from his union with Tammie Frank and three from his first union with Shawna Frank, survive Frank.
