The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said that the jury could not reach a decision.

CNN said before that Masterson was charged in 2020 with raping three women against their will in separate incidents that happened between 2001 and 2003.

The district attorney’s office said in a statement, “We are disappointed with the outcome of this trial, but we thank the jurors for their service.” “We also want to thank the victims from the bottom of our hearts for having the courage to come forward and talk about their terrifying experiences.”

The district attorney’s office said, “We will now think about what to do next,” but they didn’t say if they plan to re-file the case.

CNN has asked Masterson’s lawyer what they think about the situation. Masterson did not answer when asked to say something outside of court.

Masterson was charged under his full name, Daniel Peter Masterson. He is best known for playing Steven Hyde on “That ’70s Show,” which ran on the Fox network for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006.

Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama also had roles on the show.

Masterson would work with Kutcher again in “The Ranch,” which was on Netflix. He also had a part in “Men at Work,” which was on TBS (TBS, like CNN, is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.)

In 2017, Netflix and the people who made “The Ranch” got rid of Masterson because of rape claims. Masterson told CNN at the time that he was “obviously very disappointed” by the decision.
