Last year, one of the biggest surprises on TV was the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham, which told the story of how Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham FC. Reynolds was there to cheer on the team in their recent exciting FA Cup match against Sheffield United.
Sheffield United only got a rematch because they scored a goal deep into injury time that made the home fans cry. All of this will give the second season, which is coming out later this year, a lot of drama. So far, here’s what we know.
When Will Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 Come Out?
Ryan Reynolds tweeted about the second season just one week after the first season ended on October 12, 2022, but we don’t know when it will come out. In fact, we don’t even know what will happen in the second season. Reynolds and McElhenney bought the team in September 2020.
The first season ran from then until the end of the 2021-2022 season in late May 2022. People think that this second season will be a little shorter, covering only the 2022-2023 school year, which will end at the latest in early June 2023. If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be crazy to think that the show might start in late August 2023.

What Happened in Welcome to Wrexham’s First Season?
The show was about how the two stars planned to take over Wrexham and then did so successfully. It also showed how they tried to improve their team and bring good luck to the rest of Wrexham.
Before Reynolds and McElhenney took over, the team was in last place in the National League. In the 2021–22 season, after they took over, the team moved up to the eighth place. In the first full season after the takeover, Wrexham finished second.
In a heartbreaking end to the series, they just missed out on promotion to the second division of the English Football League. Along the way, fans, players, volunteers, and business owners from the Wrexham area were shown to the viewers.
What Will Happen in Season Two?
Ryan Reynolds said on Twitter that there would be a second season just a week after the end of the first season in October of last year. It’s likely that Season Two will continue to show the club’s growing success. Right now, they’re on top of the National League and fighting to keep going in the FA Cup after a thrilling 3-3 draw with Sheffield United.
