Ben Kweller, an American musician, recently told people that his 16-year-old son Dorian Zev had died. This was sad news.
Yesterday, February 28, Kweller wrote on his Instagram page that Dorian had been killed. The singer-songwriter, who is 41 years old, posted a picture of his dead son with a heartbreaking caption.
It said: “There’s no way that I can be typing this but I am…. Our son, Dorian Zev Kweller, was killed last night. He was only 16 and he was a true legend. Kindest, gentle soul, a friend to all. If you knew him, you know. We’ll never get over him as long as we’re here on earth. Please keep his spirit alive with your memories and the music he made: @reallyzev. Dorian Zev wrote and recorded songs every day. A true poet from the day he started speaking. Only a few of his recordings were released but he was on a path and excited about his journey. He had so many plans!!! His first gig was in two weeks, at SXSW. My last text with him was about the merch he wanted to make. My baby boy was at the starting line with so much life ahead of him… I have no idea why things like this happen. We’re in complete shock and don’t know what the future holds. Lizzy, Judah, and I have no idea how to deal with this disaster. Thank you for your prayers and support and we apologize if we are slow to respond to messages.”

Ben Kweller also talked about Dorian’s hopes and dreams to one day be a singer. In the caption of his Instagram photo, he said that he was a “true poet” from the time he learned to talk and that he wrote and recorded songs every single day.
Kweller also said that his late son’s first show ever would be at SXSW in two weeks. Kweller also said that the last message he sent to his son was about the merchandise his son wanted to make.
Also, the father, who was sad and in mourning, said that he and his family were completely shocked by what had happened. He was sad that Dorian had so much to do in his life, and he didn’t understand why bad things happen to good people.
Ben, who started the post-grunge band Radish, said that Dorian had only put out a few singles up until this point.
Kweller put a link to the dead teen’s Instagram page and told his friends and followers to listen to Dorian’s music and keep him alive in their memories and in the music he made. Just four days before he died, Dorian put out a single called “Hickeys.”
Soon, Kweller’s peers and friends told him how sorry they were for his terrible loss and pain.
