Wanthong wakes up in the middle of the night because it is so cold. She wakes up and wonders if it’s raining outside, but then she has to go to the bathroom right away. She can’t go outside because she’s afraid of the dark, and she’s still not used to using the spittoon.
She is thinking about all of this when she hears a noise nearby. She grabs her stick to protect herself from whatever it is. She thinks about when she found out Philai Kaeo might still like her, but she turned him down because she thought a guy with so much anger couldn’t understand real love.
Philai sits on the window frame and looks at Wanthong. He tells her that he can’t use his skills to get close to her, so he has to do it the normal way. When Pong hears the noises, he runs into the room and stands in front of Wanthong to protect her. When Philai sees the Talisman around Prong’s neck, he can’t understand how someone didn’t get hurt by his spell.
Wanthong asks Philai why he came to see her and says that he thinks he is trying to force himself on a woman. Philai says that he will be the king in Kanchanaburi when he goes back there in the morning.
He tells Wanthong that he has come to take her with him, but she says that she is not something he can just pick up and take anywhere. Wanthong thinks that she and Prong wouldn’t be able to beat Philai in a fight, and the fact that her protection is at another house makes things even worse.
