Billy Ray Cyrus is an American actor, songwriter, and country music performer. His smash track “Achy Breaky Heart” topped the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart and became the first single to attain triple platinum status in Australia. Since 1992, he has released 16 studio albums and 53 singles.
Billy Ray Cyrus expressed his displeasure with the audio leak, in which he was audibly heard disparaging his daughter Miley. After being leaked, the audio recording quickly gained widespread popularity on the internet. He berated his divorced wife Firerose and made fun of both her and his former partner Tish in the audio recording. Billy’s attorneys also issued a statement about the matter involving the audio leak.

Billy defended himself on Instagram even as his attorneys released a formal statement outlining the circumstances surrounding the audio recording that was leaked and in which Billy referred to her daughter as the “Devil.” Billy is 62 years old.
In Instagram story, he wrote, “Hell yeah I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. That’s before I knew she was fraud. I just knew something wasn’t right.”
He further added, “That was before I knew she was David Hodges’s ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents’ last name. I had no idea she was arrested for felony residential burglary.” He concluded his statement with, “I saw before my own eyes, everything I thought I knew about her, was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own gain. See you in court,” as reported
Billy’s divorce attorneys stated that Billy was unaware that he was being taped when Firerose shared the recording. In a statement, attorneys Rose Palermo and Jason Talley of Cheatham Palermo and Garret stated that Firerose tried to use the media distribution of the audio clip as a means of obtaining money from the Achy Breaky Heart singer during their divorce.
Attorney Alleges Firerose Exposed Private Audio Clip, Sparking Legal Controversy
Before their first anniversary, in May, Billy filed for divorce from Firerose. Following this, Firerose accused her spouse of domestic abuse. The Some Gave All singer claimed that she spent $96,000 of Billy’s money throughout the divorce procedures, but a judge determined that Firerose had no right to demand access to his money, credit cards, or other significant assets during their divorce hearing this month.
Billy’s lawyers stated that “is the person who made the recording without telling Mr. Cyrus that she was recording him” in reference to the audio clip leak. She was, of course, purposefully acting appropriately because she was aware that the recording was being made.
The attorneys included a note about Firerose’s return to Billy in the statement that said “If Mr Cyrus was truly the person that Ms Hodges desires the court of public opinion to believe with the release of her one-sided recording, then it is mindboggling to try and explain why Ms Hodges begged to return to live with him and for Mr Cyrus to give her a chance to ‘explain everything’ after he filed to annul or dissolve their marriage.”
