Shannon Sharpe is an American football player who played tight end for 14 seasons in the National Football League, mostly with the Denver Broncos.

Early Years and Education
Shannon Sharpe was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, on June 26, 1968. Sharpe, the younger brother of former NFL standout wide receiver Sterling Sharpe, attended Glennville High School in Georgia, where he earned all-state honors in three sports.

Sharpe was named All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference three times between 1987 and 1989. In 1987, he was also named SIAC Player of the Year. In 1989, he was also named a Kodak Division II All-American.
In 1988 and 1989, the Tigers football team had the best records in the history of the team: 7–3 and 8–1. Sharpe caught 61 passes for 1,312 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior. He had more than 200 yards in three games. Sharpe had 192 catches for 3,744 yards and 40 touchdowns when he was done with college.
In 2009, he entered the Division II Football Hall of Fame; in 2010, he joined Savannah State University’s sports hall of fame; and in 2013, he was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame.
