Roman Roy is the youngest of his family’s children. His attitude is similar to that of his father, but he is not as mature or focused as his father was. Because of this, he is not seen as the rightful heir to RoyCo. He is shown as a selfish brat who is rude and insecure.
Only his brother Connor, sister Kendall, and sister Shiv back and believe in him. Roman has been in a lot of partnerships, but none have lasted long. At the moment, he is dating Tabitha, who works with him. He likes to be in the spotlight and uses all of his money to the fullest.
Is Roman Gay in Succession?
The writers are unsure about Roman’s sexuality. Kieran Culkin, who plays Roman on the show Succession, has talked about how Roman’s sexuality was a point of discussion before the show started filming. The thriller stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, and Sarah Snook, and the actor, who is 40, plays Roman.
After the latest episode, “Kill List,” in which Logan, the father of the Roy family, died in a shocking way, the drama level went up even more. Culkin talked to Variety about his character.
In the first part of the series, people thought they saw Roman’s wife and child.
“Not his kid. “Neither is his wife,” the star said. “It was in the pilot, and after the show was picked up, it was his girlfriend, and she had a child.”
“We have no idea what it is.”
In the show, Culkin also said, “I was excited about the idea of having a kid.” “It was a little disappointing,” he said, adding that things didn’t go as planned.
“But I think the idea was that it would just give them more freedom to play with the character,” he said.
Culkin also talked about how before the pilot episode was filmed, it was said that the writers were unsure about Roman’s sexuality.
“We don’t know what it is,” he said to Variety. “But it made me think of something, and I thought, ‘OK, but what about the fact that I’m married and have kids?’
“They were toying with the idea that she knows you have sexual issues with monogamy and might be more open, but we don’t know what that means yet.”
It would be an interesting way to look at the character, and it would add to the LGBTQ-friendly entertainment on HBO. HBO also made the hit shows The White Lotus and The Last of Us, which both had LGBTQ characters and stories that were very well known.

Fans Think Roman Is Gay in Succession
As the fourth and last season comes to an end, there is still no sign that the showrunners will act on the idea that Roman might not be completely straight. He had a secret, casual relationship with Gerri Kellman (J Smith Cameron), and he met his present girlfriend Tabitha (Caitlin FitzGerald) at Tom’s bachelor party.
The show has had a problem with how LGBTQ+ people are shown for a long time, with Logan’s father being a very open homophobe. Also, many fans thought that cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) was gay, so Pritchett revealed that she “advocated” for that, but it didn’t happen.
Some fans, though, have pointed to the sexually charged scenes Roman has been in, like a tense gym training scene in the first season and an interesting business deal that took place in the bathroom.
So, there you go. Even though we don’t think Succession will tell us one way or the other, we now know that the show has been trying to keep us guessing about Roman’s sexuality on purpose.
Does that mean Roman will get out, be proud, and end up in Matsson’s big, strong arms? We wouldn’t count on it, since we’ve seen this show. But we can’t wait for the next five shows to see how Roman’s libido does.
