There’s a new trailer for Harley Quinn’s third season, and it’s everything we dreamed it would be: wacky, gory, and lesbian.
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy begin their “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour” with their motley gang of chosen family members, including King Shark (Ron Funches) and Clayface (Alan Tudyk), who transforms into a vibrating chair to give filmmaker James Gunn a ride on his face.
In season three, the mayhem and madness continue as “Harlivy” seeks to be the best version of themselves while also working towards Ivy’s long-desired dream to transform Gotham into an Eden paradise,” according to the official logline. The plot is still primarily a mystery.
Harley and Ivy’s love story will not be ignored in season three, according to showrunner Justin Halpern, who spoke with Entertainment Weekly in 2020.
What we need to focus on is “that,” Halpern remarked. “We’ve already established that these two characters have a history of having harmful romantic relationships.
While the connection between Ivy and Kite Man was not harmful, it was also not one of equals, you know? He adored her in a way that she didn’t.”
The bond between the two women, though, is entirely different, he said. When it comes to their relationship, this will be the first time that they’ve both expressed genuine feelings of affection for one another.” They are burdened with a great deal of duty.
A huge issue we want to explore revolves around the question, “What is it like to be in a good relationship after you’ve only ever been in poor relationships with abusive people?”
When the show returns to HBO Max on Thursday, July 28 with three new episodes, viewers will find out just what it entails.
