A Christmas Story is one of those holiday movies that are always funny. All of the Parker family’s holiday mishaps, including Ralphie’s, are so familiar: waiting in line for Santa at the mall, a turkey dinner went wrong, and a leg lamp that could be a gift (okay, maybe not the last one).
It doesn’t matter that the movie came out more than 40 years ago. From our point of view, we’ll play it every holiday season from now on.
With the news that A Christmas Story Christmas, the long-awaited sequel, is now available to stream on HBO Max, we’re even more excited than to watch the first movie. (And if you haven’t seen the trailer, you’ll be glad to know that Ian Petrella, Zack Ward, Scott Schwartz, and R.D. Robb are all back in the sequel, playing the same iconic roles they played in the first movie.) But just in case you need a reminder, here’s what you need to know about how and where to watch A Christmas Story this year.
How can I find A Christmas Story on TV?
In past years, many TV networks have shown “A Christmas Story” as part of their holiday shows. This year, we know that the movie will be shown again on Turner Broadcasting Station.

Where can I find “A Christmas Story” to watch?
A Christmas Story Christmas is now available to stream on HBO Max. It went live on November 17. Because the movie was made by HBO Max, you won’t be able to stream it on any other service. Sorry, fans of Netflix and Hulu!
