Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza had great chemistry when they presented an award at the 2023 SAG Awards. They did this in just a few minutes.
Jon Gries told everyone what he told Aubrey Plaza in a whisper at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The SAG Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series went to “The White Lotus” on Sunday.
The actor F. Murray Abraham accepted the award for the group at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The rest of the cast then took the stage.
As the rest of the cast watched Abraham accept the award, Plaza, who played Harper in the second season of “The White Lotus,” looked annoyed. This was especially true after she and Gries had a whispered conversation.
Media asked Gries and Plaza for a comment, but neither company got back to Media right away. Gries, who played Tanya’s husband Greg in “The White Lotus,” talked to Media on Monday about what he said to Plaza while they were onstage.
Gries told the news outlet that he first told Plaza to “look to the front” because she was “being blocked by about 15 people.“
When the cast of “The White Lotus” comes onstage, Plaza can’t be seen until Gries leads her to an empty pocket.
Gries whispered to Plaza again a few seconds later, and Plaza quickly put her hands on the diamond-shaped cutout on most of the bodice of her Michael Kors dress.
Gries told Media that he told Plaza, “You might want to fix that first,” because the cutout let her underboob show.
But Plaza’s stylist said in an Instagram comment on Monday that the dress was made to show off her bottom. Photos of her from earlier in the night on the red carpet also show her underboob.

The actor told Page Six that he thought Plaza’s reaction showed that she was asking, “Why would that be a problem if my nipple is showing?”
“That’s her humor—she has that dry, deadpan wit; that’s her biting wit,” he said.
Plaza also seemed to say “Jesus Christ” onstage, but that was probably because her co-stars Meghann Fahy and Michael Imperioli almost elbowed her when they hugged.
Gries told Media that the day after the show, he texted Plaza and asked, “You weren’t really upset, were you?” to make sure she wasn’t mad at him.
He said that she answered, “No! In no way!” Media says that she joked that Gries “saved” her from a possible nip-slip.
Gries also told Media that Plaza went to an after-party with the rest of the “White Lotus” cast until 1:30 a.m., which shows that everything was fine with the group.
The bold cutout and daring slit on Plaza’s SAGs dress made it one of the most memorable looks of the night.
