Jenna Ortega is one of Hollywood’s rising stars. Her role as the famous Wednesday Addams in the hit Netflix show Wednesday has impressed many people. Tim Burton is in charge of the show, which follows the young Addams daughter as she goes to a strange boarding school and finds out she has psychic powers.
The second season of Wednesday is expected to start airing later this year, and fans can’t wait. But Season 2 of Wednesday isn’t the only thing Ortega has planned for 2023. The talented actress is working on a number of other movies and TV shows. Some of them may even be more popular and well-known than her role as Wednesday.
Here are a few things that Ortega fans should keep an eye out for:
Scream 6
Ortega made her first appearance in the Scream series in 2022. She played Tara Carpenter, a teenager who Ghostface goes after. She made it through the events of Scream and will have a bigger part in Scream 6, which comes out on March 10. Ortega has hinted that Tara’s character will grow and change in the next book and that she will face new challenges and risks.
One of the most anticipated horror movies of 2023 is Scream 6, which continues the meta-horror series by Wes Craven that began in 1996. Faces like Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Marley Shelton will be back in the movie. Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, and Dylan Minnette will play new characters.
Finestkind
Ortega will also be in the crime thriller Finestkind, which takes place in Boston and is about two brothers who get back together as adults and get involved with a dangerous crime ring. Ortega will play a young woman who gets caught up in their problems and puts their loyalty and kindness to the test.
Brian Helgeland, who won an Oscar for co-writing L.A. Confidential and also wrote Mystic River and A Knight’s Tale, wrote and directed Finestkind. Ben Foster, Toby Wallace, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jason Clarke are all in the movie, which is a big plus. Finestkind is almost done being made and will be available on Paramount+.
Miller’s Girl
Ortega will also be in the lead role of Miller’s Girl, a comedy-drama about a teacher (Martin Freeman) and his talented student (Ortega) who are given a creative writing assignment that turns out to be complicated (Ortega). Jade Halley Bartlett, who wrote the book “Unpregnant,” is making her first movie as a director.
Miller’s Girl is made by Lionsgate and Point Grey. Superbad, Pineapple Express, and Good Boys were all hit movies made by Seth Rogen’s company, Point Grey. The movie is being made right now.
