The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 6 Recap:
Mandalorian Lizzo Black, Jack Christopher LloydBo travels with Din and Grogu in her Gauntlet to Plazir-15, a democratic planet where Axe’s cruiser is now stationed. Bo and Din discover from the planet’s elected authorities, Captain Bombardier (Jack Black) and the Duchess (Lizzo), that Ax & Co. provides protection because their charter prohibits an army or armed constables.
Nonetheless, they let Bo and Din in with their weapons since their weapons are part of their religion and they need assistance with a droid problem. Specifically, peace-reprogrammed Imperial droids have begun functioning in a variety of ways. For their aid, Axe will grant Bo and Din an audience.
The investigation initially takes Bo and Din to Plazir-15’s chief of security, Commissioner Hellgate (Christopher Lloyd), who recounts the various faults and secures a “cutoff button” that, if activated, would put all droids back into fighting mode.
Bo and Din then converse with the Ugnauts responsible for reprogramming the droids, while Mando taunts one battle droid until it “snaps” and engages in combat. The battle/pursuit continues through the streets of Plazir-15 until Bo saves Din’s life by firing two blasts at the droid.
Noting that the robot had a “spark pad” for a place called The resistor, Bo and Din proceed to said droid bar, where their presence brings an abrupt end to the festivities. The droid bartender maintains that he wants to assist, as the problem threatens to replace them all with — eep! — humans.
Then he explains that the bar provides Nepenthe, a lubricant that also transmits program-refreshing sub-particles, to its patrons. Additional examination of the sub-particles discovered within the defeated combat robot shows nanobots and a chain code that leads to Commissioner Hellgate, the individual responsible for the deprogramming.
When confronted, the security head threatens to activate the failsafe, but Bo stops him with an electroshock dart.
Hellgate, a Separatist who sincerely believes that Count Dooku was “a visionary,” is brought before Captain Bombardier and the Duchess and rants about how Plazir-15 has become unrecognizable in its peace-keeping, autonomous state.
Later, the Captain and Duchess express their gratitude to their guests by giving them a city key and knighting Grogu. But would anyone affectionately address him as “Sir Grogu” in the future? Stay current!
Bo is granted an audience with Axe Woves and informs him of her intention to recapture her fleet and unite Mandalore.
But, Axe states that he has become “very fond” of being in power. Bo challenges him to a duel, and after some back-and-forth, she obtains the advantage and places a sword to his throat.
Bo spares him, but Axe argues that she can never rule her people if she refuses to remove the Darksaber from Din Djarin. Mando offers the great blade to Bo, but she emphasizes that it cannot be simply transferred.
But, Mando then describes to the others how Bo fought the beast that had defeated and disarmed him on Mandalore. So, according to the transitive property we all learned in high school, she has effectively defeated him and has the right to claim the Darksaber.
