Helen Hunt is an actress and director who was born in the U.S. She has won a lot of awards, including an Oscar, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards.

Helen Elizabeth Hunt was born in Culver City, California, on June 15, 1963. Jane Elizabeth, her mother, was a photographer, and Gordon Hunt, her father, was a film, voice, and stage director as well as an acting coach. Peter H. Hunt, her uncle, was also a director.
Dorothy (Anderson) Fries, who was her mother’s mother, was a voice coach. Hunt’s paternal grandmother was from a German-Jewish family. Her other grandparents were from England (Hunt’s maternal grandfather was born there) and were Methodists.
