Fast X, the latest movie in the series, has an even bigger cast of stars, including Oscar winners Rita Moreno, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren.

Vin Diesel also brought in Captain Marvel star Brie Larson, who plays Tess, the secret agent Mr. Nobody’s daughter, as a nod to the fact that the series has always been about family. Here’s how Vin Diesel’s own family gave the new Fast and Furious movie its ideas.

How Brie Larson Got the Part of Tess in the Movie Fast X!

In Fast X, Brie Larson is great as Tess, Mr. Nobody’s daughter. This is her first role in the Fast and Furious series. Fans have been impressed by Larson’s movie personality before, though. Before she got the part, Brie Larson had already made a number of pictures that were very good.

Even so, Larson’s dream came true when she was cast in the Fast and Furious series. In fact, the 32-year-old had wanted to be in the series for so long that she almost started a campaign in 2022 to get it.

“Of course, I’d love to be in a Fast and Furious movie. I’m crazy about it,” she told Uproxx in 2022. “I care for them. I love them so much. They are really fun. And they have taught me to like cars. And that’s something to be thankful for.

They are amazing. So, please, of course.”

What Vin Diesel Has in Mind for Brie Larson?

Larson’s goal for a long time had been to get a part in the long-running movie, but when she found out she had gotten one, the Oscar-winning actress was a little nervous.

When I got the phone call, I was dancing and screaming,” she said at the red carpet opening of the movie in Rome. “I’ve asked to be in these movies for years, because I love them so much.

But then I had a moment of silence when I thought, “I don’t know if I can do this. I’m not sure if I deserve this. Can I do anything to honor this history and legacy and make something that is important and adds to this?'”

Things seemed to get better when Vin Diesel asked Brie Larson to dinner with his family. During dinner, his family told her more about what Diesel had in mind for the role.

“I was lucky that Vin asked me to come over for dinner pretty quickly, like within a day. There, I met his kids, and they started asking me, ‘What will you bring to the Fast franchise?'” she said.

“It was really intense, so real, and so helpful” to talk about Tess’s details in a place that was both real and friendly, as one person said. They helped me in all ways.”

Diesel’s youngest daughter, Pauline, was the one who really brought Larson’s character to life in the way that Diesel had in mind. Larson says that the 8-year-old’s carefree attitude led to a unique change in the character.

“His youngest daughter, Pauline, was wearing a jacket that said “Good Vibes Only.” She was in a bad mood and stomping around. She’s smart, blunt, and funny,” Larson said. “And I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll model my character after her.'” So, that’s how Tess turned out the way she did.”

Larson took it a step further and had the film’s wardrobe department make Pauline’s outfit, which she wore throughout the movie. Diesel told Harper’s Bazaar before the film’s opening that Brie went to the fashion department and had them make a new jacket. “She wore it throughout the whole movie.”

What Brie Larson Thought About Working on the Movie Fast X?

Even though Fast X wasn’t Brie Larson’s first high-budget action movie, she still had a lot of fun shooting high-octane action scenes. She told ScreenSlam, “I was just happy the whole time.” “That was crazy.

As we’ve been here today, I’ve been thinking about when we were practicing for the Brazil scene. There were many times when I was so interested in what I was seeing that I had to go fight because I was just like, “I don’t know.”

She used to have a lot of self-doubt and worry, but as she got into the part, fun and joy took their place. “It’s very rare to have grown up with something, loved it, watched it on TV, and then be in it,” she told ScreenSlam.

I couldn’t let myself have self-doubt because I think I wouldn’t have done my best if I did. So I just had to say, “I was asked.” I was asked to. I’m going to be there. I’m gonna do my part. And it was such a good time. So much fun.”

Still, the actress had to tone down her hopes a lot because she wasn’t playing a strong woman like Captain Marvel.

“I had to change because the only fight scenes I had done before were as Carol, where I have a lot of power,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “So I’m used to, like, if I punch someone, they fly across on a rack. So I had to learn not to have too high hopes for this one… They just keep falling. They don’t travel to space. Stay tuned with Crossover99, for the latest news and updates.
