In the first part of Chapter 22 of Golden Mage, King Ledolph and Sir Ellmis talk. The Manticore Valley was what they talked about. Sir Ellmis wants to help the King take care of Manticore Valley. King seems like he can’t believe what he’s hearing about the Ellmis right now.
He says that Manticore Valley is the place where people die. No one can get there without getting hurt. But Ellmis is sure of himself and his ability to use magic. He can even take care of the problem in three years. But first, he needs to know how many animals are there.
The last time this happened, 10,000 animals attacked the Kingdom the year before. And King can guess that there are maybe 50,000 animals in the Manticore Valley.
Sir Ellmis is a high-level mage who can handle the number. He is the only person in the whole kingdom who can do what the king wants. But it takes him a while. The pictures of the beasts getting ready to fight are very well done.
Later in the chapter, we learn that the King is now happy because Sir Ellmis is getting ready to go to Manticore Valley and save the Kingdom for the King. The next panel, which will show Ellmis using his magic to make the blue diamonds, is gorgeous. We learn that the Ellmis is a 7th-class mage from the same source. Plus, he is traveling with the Knight Golem.

It looks like Manticore animals have already started to move into the Kingdom. Captain Myder is ready to handle them all on his own. We later see the Manticore and the troops fight in a bloody battle. All of the Manticore beasts are killed by Captain Myder and his fellow troops.
But they keep coming, and the men look tired and can’t fight any more beasts. It looks like the beasts are going to win, but then Kaina shows up and helps them. Sir Ellmis, Kaina, and Captain Myder are now fighting each other.
