How Do I Remove Someone from A Group Text?
To pull someone out of a group text on your phone, follow these steps:
Method 1: iPhone and iMessage
- On your iPhone, open the Messages app.
- Choose the group text chat from which you wish to remove a participant.
- In the conversation’s upper right corner, tap the Details button.
- To remove someone from the group, scroll down and use the Remove option next to their name.
- Press the “Remove” button. They will no longer be able to access the group text.
Method 2: Android and Text Messaging
- On your Android smartphone, open the Messages app.
- Choose the group text chat from which you wish to remove a participant.
- In the conversation’s upper right corner, tap the three-dot icon.
- From the drop-down menu, choose the Remove option.
- Choose the individual you wish to have removed from the group.
- Press the “Remove” button. They will no longer be able to access the group text.

Method 3: iOS and Text Messaging
- Launch the Messages application on your iOS gadget.
- Choose the group text chat from which you wish to remove a participant.
- In the conversation’s upper right corner, tap the three-dot icon.
- From the drop-down menu, choose the option to Leave Conversation.
- Press the “Leave Conversation” button. The group text will no longer contain the person you are currently logged in as.
Method 4: Android and WhatsApp
- On your Android device, launch the WhatsApp app.
- Choose the group conversation from which you wish to remove a participant.
- In the conversation’s upper right corner, tap the three-dot icon.
- Click the drop-down menu and choose More choices.
- Click the “Remove” button.
- Choose the individual you wish to have removed from the group.
- Press the “Remove” button. The user will no longer be able to access the group chat.

Method 5: On an iPad
- Find the group text thread in the Messages app after opening it.
- In the upper right corner of the screen, tap the “I” icon.
- To remove a contact from the group, find them and tap their name.
- Choose “End this Discussion.”
