Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, has been discharged from the ICU following a severe electric bike accident last week.
The 20-year-old suffered a head injury and experienced “complex trauma” from the crash that occurred on July 29. He now faces a challenging recovery process, including extensive physical therapy, according to sources who spoke with People.
“Pax has been released from the ICU. He endured complex trauma and is starting a long recovery journey,” an insider revealed.
The “Maleficent” star, Angelina Jolie, remains by her son’s side along with his siblings, who have been visiting and offering support.
Jolie’s representatives have been contacted for further comments, while Pax’s estranged father, actor Brad Pitt, has chosen not to comment on the situation.
Pax was admitted to the hospital after crashing his electric bike into a car on Los Feliz Boulevard around 5 p.m. last Monday. He sustained a head injury in the accident and was not wearing a helmet at the time.
Pax Jolie-Pitt was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital after reporting a head injury and hip pain from the collision, according to additional reports.
TMZ revealed that Pax crashed his electric bike into a stationary vehicle at a red light while approaching an intersection. The driver of the vehicle exited to check on Pax before emergency services arrived.
Although details of the exact point of impact are unclear, bystanders indicated that Pax sustained a head injury in the crash.
Pax is one of the six children of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The couple also shares Maddox, 22; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
