How to Play Multiplayer on a Meta (Oculus) Quest 2

Multiplayer games on a Meta Quest 2 can be played in two different ways. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to launch the multiplayer mode of any game that supports multiplayer and has a matchmaking function.

Horizon Worlds, Rec Room, VR Chat, and many others let you to instantly enter a cooperative or competitive multiplayer game with complete strangers upon startup.

If you’re more of a social gamer, Quest 2 allows you to host a seven-person party where you can all chat, hang around, and play games together. If you want to use this function, you’ll need to upgrade your Quest first. Make sure your Quest is linked to Wi-Fi and that there isn’t too much interference before you begin.

  • Open the main menu by pressing the Oculus button on your right controller.

  • Select a friend’s card by hovering the mouse over it.

  • Once your pal has joined the party, you can choose an app to use together.
  • Find the area titled “Watch or play with your party,” then pick a game or app to enjoy with your friends.

How to Organize Your Quest 2 Team:

To access the main menu, simply press the Oculus button on your controller. Below the main menu are “party controls,” which appear when multiple players are present.

  • Select the flaming phone to excuse yourself from the gathering.
  • You can silence yourself by clicking the mike symbol.
  • Select the App icon to begin chatting via the app.
  • You may control your gathering by clicking the green phone button.
  • If you want to control a specific member of your party, click the options button (three dots) on their card.
  • The View Profile option allows you to look at the person’s profile, while the Block and Report buttons come in handy if the person is causing difficulties.
  • By selecting the cogwheel, guest invitees can be managed.
  • To invite everyone you know, flip the switch and click the “Done” button.

How to Manage Your Party

Quest 2 games frequently feature random matchmaking for co-op play. If the game was fun, you could always have them over for more or perhaps start following them so you never have to miss another one. You may find this option in the social menu under “Recently Met.”

  • Find your old Quest 2 buddies by following these steps!
  • To meet new people, go to Who You May Have Recently Met… in the People menu.

  • Use a program that allows you to communicate with other people at the same time, such as VR Chat.

  • Select the Link Maker button.
  • Select the Share button.
  • Choose a sharing option, or copy the link to send it in an email, text, or other formats.
