Shirogane knew how Jinyo’s Engulfing Shadow method worked, so he only used long-range moves because getting close to Jinyo would be dangerous. Shirogane’s plan didn’t work, though, because the Jinyo was able to use up his Hellfire because the attack was mostly Haku.
Shirogane threw Suzu away from him when the Jinyo was about to corner him. This was to save her. Suzu tried to keep the Jinyo away from Shirogane by distracting him with a paper trick she had learned from Garaku, but it didn’t work.
Matsuri came back to life out of the blue, which surprised everyone. Shirogane said that the Jinyo only ate Haku of Matsuri’s female form, which gave him an extra life and turned him back into his original boy form. Matsuri found out in the end that the Jinyo’s best skill was also his only weakness.
Matsuri used Kazamaki-Style Exorcist Ninja Art: Calm Formation, a move he learned from his grandpa, to stop the air from moving around him. This helped him find the mouth of the Engulfing Shadow. At last, he directed a blast of wind at the Jinyo’s mouth, which killed it.
Matsuri was happy to get back to his true form, so he took Takigyo to a nearby waterfall. Matsuri changed back to a woman all of a sudden, which scared Suzu and Shirogane to death.
