There are two modes in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Episode Battle and Custom Battle.

Episode Battle:-
In this single-player mode, players can control eight different characters. There will be an introduction before the battle in each stage. These battles are from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. The amount of cutscenes varies depending on the character, and some cutscenes are in first-person for a more immersive experience. In some stages the player can make certain choices that differ from the original story, changing the ending of the story.
