Kendrick Lamar’s Family, Mustard, DeMar DeRozan, More Join in Celebration of Chart-Topping Drake Diss Song

Kendrick Lamar is celebrating Independence Day with the music video for his chart-topping Drake diss song, “Not Like Us.”

The triumphant “Not Like Us” video begins with Lamar’s rap of the new track featuring the line “Keep a horn on me, that’s Kamasi.” Later, there are cameos from prominent California celebrities such as Tommy the Clown, Compton native and former Toronto Raptors All-Star DeMar DeRozan, Producer Mustard (who wears a Toronto Blue Jays cap), and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith.

Lamar takes a dig at Drake and October’s Very Own by breaking an owl pinata and looking at a caged owl. Plus, Lamar dances with his partner Whitney Alford and two children. (Drake has questioned Lamar’s family relationships in diss tracks like “Family Matters.”) The new “Not Like Us” video follows Lamar’s Pop Out concert on Juneteenth in Inglewood, California.

Kendrick’s family is at the forefront of the “Not Like Us” video. Kendrick stands behind his son Enoch, who Drake said is not his. Whitney comes out and does a Creepwalk to Mustard’s beat. (Mustard wears a Toronto Blue Jays hat.)

Drake’s diss track painted a picture of a torn family, while the video shows unity. TDE label head Top Dawg’s appearance also shows that their relationship is strong, which Drake described as strained.

Kendrick Lamar is proving time and again that he’s on the cutting edge. “Not Like Us,” his definitive diss track against Drake, has already reached #1 and is considered one of the best diss tracks of all time. He performed it five consecutive times at the end of the Pop Out concert on Juneteenth, celebrating his victory and LA’s rap scene. Now, on July 4, he has released the video of this song.
