Who is Tourmaline?
Tourmaline Larou, a faerie with a strong will and a rough exterior, has long guarded Vignette’s interests. Even though she is currently employed in a whorehouse, she is more than capable of knocking the heads of any human or fairy who dares to cross her.
Since Tourmaline and Vignette came from such different backgrounds, they hated each other at first when they were forced to share a dorm room as freshmen.
Tourmaline quickly realized that she and Vignette have a lot in common, and the two became close, even dropping hints of a romantic relationship. In the present day, they are still very close friends.

Will Vignette save Tourmaline in Carnival Row Season 2?
Tourmaline saw her own funeral in a vision. A monster is responsible for killing both humans and faeries. Why does she have to die for some sin that she hasn’t committed? That’s not entirely clear, especially given that the monster rescued Vignette from certain death.
Thus far, everything that Tourmaline has seen in her visions has come to pass. Consider the guillotine execution of Vignette. The guillotine never made it to Tourmaline. Tourmaline may have witnessed the creature’s attack if she had remained in the vision longer.
Tourmaline hasn’t tried to alter her visions because she hasn’t been successful so far. Despite her visions being a curse, she didn’t immediately recognize what was happening and is only now beginning to tap into the dark magic.

The plans may not be set in stone after all. Tourmaline and Vignette may be able to avoid the vision if they can find a way out of The Row.
