Megumi informed Shigemo that Mahoraga, the strongest Shikigami, has not been vanquished by any Ten Shadows sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 17, “Thunderclap, Part 2.” In an exorcism ritual involving Shigemo, Megumi calls forth Mahoraga; as a result, the ritual is deemed invalid.

In a flashback, Satoru tells Megumi about how a Zen’in family head with the Ten Shadows and a Gojo family head with Six Eyes and Limitless battled, ending in their deaths. He hinted that Megumi would eventually gain enough strength to kill Gojo, but the boy understood that this would only be possible with Mahoraga’s help.

Mahoraga murders Megumi in the present after calling her, leaving her in a state of suspended death. Sukuna recognizes that Megumi is in danger and rushes to his aid, soon realizing that Mahoraga’s strength lies in his capacity to counter any attack. Sukuna exorcises Mahoraga by unleashing a Domain that ends just before Megumi’s location.
