The Shocking Twist in the Star Trek Picard Season 3 Finale Will Leave You Speechless!

In the last episode of Picard, the crew from the popular 1980s and 1990s TV show The Next Generation went on one last journey in their famous ship.

In the last episode, “The Last Generation,” which aired on Thursday, the crew of the remade Enterprise-D took on the Borg for the last (maybe) time to save the day and humanity.

Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, LeVar Burton, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, and Marina Sirtis all came back for one last big adventure in the third and final season of the Paramount+ show.

There were also some great Trek Easter eggs in the end, like when Walter Koenig, who played Anton Chekov in The Original Series, voiced his character’s son, Federation President Anton Chekov.

Star Trek Picard Season 3 Finale Recap!

Deanna feels Jack inside the cube, which is only partially working and using its resources to boost Jack’s assimilation signal.

The only way to stop Jack from being assimilated by the Borg is to cut off his connection with them and destroy the signal-boosting technology that lets the Borg control the fleet.

The crew doesn’t even want to think about destroying the cube while Jack is still inside, except for Worf, who thinks it would be funny. So there’s only one way to go: into the cube.

Beverly comes up with a way to figure out where Jack is in the cube from Enterprise-D. This shows off her science skills and proves that she would have made a great chief science officer.

Star Trek Picard Season 3 Finale

Picard, Riker, and Worf form an away team, with the admiral going to find his son and the two captains going to find the signal booster. In a nice nod to the first season of TNG, Picard gives Geordi charge while Deanna cries out in pain because she has to be away from Riker again.

Now that they are on the Borg cube, the three find that it is very quiet. Drones are going bad in their hiding places. It’s quiet, except for the shimmering, crackling sounds of old energy. Picard goes to see his son, and Riker and Worf go deeper into the cube to look for the signal booster.

Picard finds Jack, who is now called “Vox” and has been absorbed in a way similar to how he was when he was Locutus of the Borg. And the Borg Queen keeps an eye on Picard’s son. She is voiced by Alice Krige, and the only way she stays alive is by draining the life force from the dying Borg drones.

She reminds me of Emperor Palpatine’s living body in The Rise of Skywalker because her melted face can only be seen in its entirety when bright green light shines on it. Now she has Locutus and Vox in her hands, the speaker and the voice.

She says that she went looking for Jack after hearing his voice, which was louder than any other sound she had ever heard, while she was starving and dying on the edge of space.

She tells Picard that Locutus is no longer needed and that this new Borg will use evolution instead of capture. The Borg Queen finally brings up Vadic and says that she and the Changeling worked together to bring down the Federation because they both wanted payback.

Beverly uses the Borg Cube to find out where Jack is. Picard, Will Riker, and Worf get on it to destroy the beacon and save Jack from the sneaky Borg Queen. Picard is the only one who succeeds at the second goal.

The Queen tells Picard that Jack’s presence on the other side of the quadrant is what brought them back to life after Kathryn Janeway gave them a virus that made them sick. The Queen had to eat her own people to stay alive.

Because she is angry about how she was treated, the Queen is determined to use her new group to destroy rather than integrate. She sends out a few drones to protect the signal while the weapons on the Cube attack the Enterprise.

Seven of Nine and Raffi Musiker lead a small strike team to take back control of the Titan. They put the assimilated people on the ship in sealed transporter rooms and tried not to let other ships know what they were doing.

Seven confuses the Borg with a strafing run while using the Titan’s updated cloaking device. However, Spacedock is still destroyed, which makes the last of Earth’s shields stop working.

The assimilated who were being held captive get away and turn off the cloaking device. This leaves the Titan open and surrounded while the armada starts to attack population areas around Earth.

Star Trek Picard Season 3 Finale

Star Trek Picard Geordi (LeVar Burton) at the Enterprise helm with Riker and Picard behind Beverly destroys the Cube’s surface defenses before Data pilots the Enterprise to the location of the beacon at the Borg vessel’s heart, which Riker and Worf tell him.

As the shockwave from the damaged beacon spreads to the rest of the ship, Picard assimilates himself again to talk to Jack from inside the collective. He frees Jack, and the two of them just make it back to the Enterprise with Riker and Worf.

When the Queen is destroyed, the young Starfleet members are no longer assimilated, so they stop their attack on Earth right away. After that, Beverly rejoins Starfleet and works on a way to get rid of any lingering Borg impact on the people who were affected and to find the evolved Changelings who are still hiding among Starfleet ranks.

When Tuvok is found safe, he forgives the Enterprise crew for what they did to save the day. He makes Seven captains of the Titan, which is now called the Enterprise-G and has Raffi and Jack as its new crew members.

But when the old Enterprise-D officers meet up at Guinan’s bar for an impromptu game of poker, Jack is privately confronted by Q, who tells him that his trial for humanity has just started.
